Belmont Heights, Long Beach, CA

Foundation repairs and seismic retrofits including crack injection, pier replacement, drainage improvements, and structural upgrades to meet code compliance on a historic single-family residence.

Challenges: Constructability review to overcome faulty construction practices from previous residents, severe cracking, and concrete foundation effervescence issues.
Public Storage Pittsburg, Pittsburg, CA

Completed construction of one (1) two-story CMU storage building: 42,776 sq. ft.

Included interior build-out including new restrooms, elevators, lobby, electrical, and fire riser room

Challenges: Reconfiguration of existing power and utilities through phasing and coordination of existing occupied campus to feed the new building


Public Storage Van Nuys, Van Nuys, CA

Completed construction of two (2) three-story CMU self-storage buildings: 149,526 sq. ft.

Included interior build-out including new restrooms, elevators, lobby, electrical, and public utility infrastructure

Challenges: The main drainage system ran beneath the primary entryway active, requiring careful sequencing of utility work during construction
Ganahl Lumber Costa Mesa, Costa Mesa, CA

Completed construction of one (1) two-story CMU retail buildings: 59,340 sq. ft.

Included a 29,560 sq. ft one-story metal storage building, a 3,750 sq. ft. mill building, and a 6,792 sq. ft. three-sided shed for lumber storage

Challenges: The concrete slab rooftop parking on top of the lumber roof structure was a key feature and design challenge during the plan check process. Through collaboration and outside peer review via 3rd party consultants, this design, a first of its kind, was successful approved despite heavy deliberation with the AHJ.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), Orange, CA

Completed construction of one (1) seven-story healthcare in-patient tower: 425,524 sq. ft.

Included build-out of emergency departments, operations rooms, imaging lab, hematology/oncology beds, café, gift shop, and library.

Challenges: Coordination with fully-operational adjacent tower and intensive phasing to tie-in existing basement and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) department

Accolades: Awarded Alliant Build America Award by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America for Best New Building Project & awarded Gold Winner by the Starnet Design Awards
Cherry Logistics Center, Long Beach, CA

Entitlement for the construction of a new Class A light-industrial building: 304,344 sq. ft.

Included completed demolition of eight (8) existing buildings and proposed build-out of modern office suite, truck court, and rooftop solar array.

Received city council approval of Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and zoning amendment to align with city general plan.

Challenges: Intensive public outreach to receive community support and rigorous design development to conform to city ESG standards.


Pinyon Industrial Park, Carson, CA

Entitlement and completed construction of a new Class A industrial complex: 422,277 sq. ft.

Included (3) speculative industrial buildings ranging from +138,000 to +181,000 sq. ft., electrical power upgrades, modern office suites, private truck courts, and ESFR sprinkler upgrades.

Received planning commission approval through a CEQA exemption.

Challenges: Thorough site security was required due to the neighborhood and extensive environmental work was required during site development.
